Instructions
- Soak the dates in 2 cups of boiling water for 10 mins.
- Place the dates in a nut milk bag over a pan and squeeze to extract the liquid. Add the red pepper flakes. If you’re weary of heat add 1 tsp and taste, then add more.
- Bring the liquid to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until thickened and glossy. (5 mins) Don’t boil for too long or the sauce will burn. Once the sauce starts to stick to a spoon it’s done. It will thicken as it cools and after placed in fridge. If it’s firmed up a lot once in the fridge just add 1 tsp of water and stir to achieve the desired consistency.
