Vegan Cajun Mashed Potatoes
Let’s talk mashed potatoes!
No matter who you are, we all love mashed potatoes. The best thing about this staple is that you it’s actually so versatile. You can mix up the variety of potatoes, mix up the base using sour cream or butter and mix up the spices!
One of my favorite things to do, is mix up the spices!
I love to do Greek style potatoes and love anything cajun flavored, so I knew we had to do Cajun Mashed Potatoes! nIf you gravitate towards all things cajun spiced, then you’re going to love these. Bonus, you can also keep it simple and just do roasted potato wedges with cajun spice!
What’s great about this mash? Everything! It’s quick, easy, packs tons of flavor, are vegan but can be made traditional, have a nice orange like hue, can compliment countless dishes, are perfect for any season, great for entertaining and just such a fun spin on the classic mash!

Vegan Cajun Mashed Potatoes
- Total Time: 20 mins
- Yield: Serves 4
Ingredients
- 6 Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 stick vegan butter, at room temperature
- 2/3 cup vegan sour cream
- 1–2 tbsps cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt,
- Freshly ground pepper
Instructions
- Make the potatoes: Bring a large pot of water to a simmer and add the potatoes. Bring to a boil and cook until fork-tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes in a large colander. Place them back into the dry pot and put the pot on the stove. Mash the potatoes over low heat, letting the steam escape.
- Turn off the heat before adding the vegan butter, vegan sour cream ,and 1 tablespoon of the Cajun seasoning. Now add the seasoned salt and 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper; mash. Garnish with additional cajun spice and serve.
