La Grande Boucherie NYC Review

There’s something special about finding a restaurant you genuinely love in one city… and then discovering it again somewhere else with the exact same magic. As someone who’s already a huge fan of Le Grand Boucherie in DC, visiting La Grande Boucherie in NYC felt like stepping into the glamorous older sister version of a place I already adored.

From the moment we walked in, the NYC location completely lived up to the hype. The venue itself is massive, dramatic, and absolutely stunning. Between the soaring ceilings, art nouveau-inspired details, glowing chandeliers, and lush greenery throughout the space, it honestly feels more like dining inside a Parisian movie set than a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. Every corner is beautiful, and somehow the atmosphere still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Learn more.

One thing I already loved about the DC location was how consistent the food and experience felt, and the NYC restaurant delivered on that same level. We started with the Dijon mussels, which were rich, flavorful, and perfect for soaking up with bread. They had that classic French brasserie comfort that somehow feels both elevated and cozy at the same time.

For my entrée, I ordered the fish, which was cooked perfectly — light, fresh, and balanced without feeling too heavy. It’s the kind of dish that reminds you why French cuisine can feel so timeless when it’s done well: simple ingredients prepared beautifully. Learn more.

And of course, dessert was non-negotiable. The profiteroles were easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. Decadent without being overwhelming, with the perfect contrast between the cream filling and warm chocolate on top. Absolutely worth saving room for.

What I love most about La Grande Boucherie is that it manages to feel luxurious while still being genuinely fun. It works equally well for a date night, girls’ dinner, celebration, or even just a spontaneous “we’re in New York and want somewhere beautiful” kind of evening.

As someone who already loved the DC location, the NYC restaurant made me an even bigger fan of the brand as a whole. If you’re looking for one of those quintessential NYC dining experiences that feels both glamorous and memorable, this one absolutely deserves a spot on your list.
