Olio E Piu DC Restaurant Review

If you’re looking for a restaurant in DC that feels elevated while still being genuinely family friendly, Olio e Più is absolutely worth visiting. As a mom, I know how difficult it can be to find restaurants that offer amazing food without making you feel stressed about bringing kids along. This was one of those rare places where everyone at the table left happy — adults and kids included.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a beautiful Italian-inspired aesthetic that somehow manages to feel upscale and comfortable at the same time. It’s the kind of place you could go for a date night, a girls’ dinner, or a family meal without feeling out of place. Learn more

One of my favorite dishes of the night was the endive salad. It was light, refreshing, and balanced — the perfect starter when you want something fresh without sacrificing flavor. As someone who appreciates healthier options when dining out, I loved having something crisp and vibrant to start the meal.
The salmon was another standout. The skin was perfectly crispy while the inside stayed tender and flavorful. It’s one of those dishes that sounds simple but is hard to execute well, and they absolutely nailed it.

The biggest surprise? Our kids loved it too. Finding a restaurant that serves high-quality food while still being kid friendly can feel impossible sometimes, but the staff made us feel completely comfortable dining as a family. Our kids happily shared bites of the salmon and enjoyed the overall experience, which honestly says a lot.
What stood out most to me about Olio e Più was how effortless the entire experience felt. Great service, beautiful ambiance, delicious food, and a welcoming environment for families — all in the heart of DC. Whether you’re planning a family dinner, brunch with friends, or a special night out, this is definitely a restaurant I’d recommend adding to your list.
