Hello & Happy Tuesday!

With the warmer weather that hit last weekend (80 degrees), I was instantly craving something fruit forward and effortless! While you can easily pick up sorbet from the market, I prefer to skip all the preservatives and shelf stabilizers and make everything from scratch!

Until the past few years, if you had asked me what a “granita” is, I would have been absolutely clueless. Sorbet, I get, but a granita? What the heck is that lol

Granita is similar to a sorbet, but more of an ice like texture and can be made much faster (use frozen fruit) and melts slower in my opinion. So you can savor the flavor for longer even on a hot day! What’s also fab about granitas, is that the options are endless in terms of flavor!

Having never made a granita, I opted for the classic flavor of watermelon and lime. Strangely enough, I saw the majority of recipes featured lemon, which made absolutely no sense to me lol.

What’s amazing about this recipe, is everything! It’s quick, easy, affordable, has minimal ingredients, you can modify the amount of added sugar, opt out altogether, use agave instead (I didn’t have any on hand), you could make an adult version with alcohol, perf for a hot summer day, perf for entertaining, and non vegan approved!

If you love effortless warm weather treats, you have to get on the granita train and try this Watermelon Lime Granita!
