Let’s talk avocados! If you purchased avocados today, they could be going bad already lol. What’s the silver lining? You can make bread! I’ve tried just about every approach with salvaging avocados. I’ve done freezing, smoothies, pesto sauce, truffles, cookies, brownies, but had never tried…
Lately I’ve been whipping up a lot of savory concepts. To be honest, even while pregnant I crave all the savory and when it comes to sweet, I’m all about the fruit! However, I wanted to do an array of new dessert recipes and the first thing that came to…
Hello & Happy Monday!! I meant to get this recipe out before the weekend, but with 2 under 2, life happens lol. When it comes to summer, I love a good beverage recipe. Prior to kids I loved…
If there is one recipe I’m excited about this year, it’s this vegan Creamy Roasted Brussels Sprout Soup! Believe it or not, there were next to no recipes for this concept online and I was shocked. Just about every gravitates towards the flavor…
Hello & Happy Friday!! With pregnancy I’ve been craving a handful of items, but nothing in the realm of pickles and ice cream lol. However, I’ve been all about some oat waffles!! Typically waffles are packed with white…
Can I substitute with a flax egg if I don’t have the Follow Your Heart brand?
You can always try! With fritters I love to use a vegan egg replacer as I find it has more binding capabilities.
Thank you!
I did. I also baked them instead of frying.
Overall, underwhelming mush! I’ll take latkes any day:) Maybe I’ll stop experimenting w experiments. Thanks for the effort anyways. I’m sure Gabrielle has better recipes, just have to try another one.
All my fritter recipes are fried that way you get texture on them, but you can bake them if that’s your preference. I would try frying next time, it just yields a better result!
You can’t bake a fritter and expect it to be a “fritter” by definition. You lose all the texture and crispness that way, which in my opinion is half the goodness of fritters.
You typically pan fry a fritter, which is what I did with these. However, if you’re looking to reduce the oil content you could bake in the oven.
These were delicious!!! I haven’t made them vegan, I added an egg and smaller amount of butternut. But with all the spices and the sage, it was absolutely beautiful! The kids liked them and gave a 5/5 stars! It’s a keeper! Thanx
Love that! Kid approved is the golden seal! Thanks for sharing!
