Lately I’ve been on a bagel kick! Typically bagels are yeast based, can fail, are very involved, tedious and the list goes on. Needless to say, unless you’re just obsessed with making your own, you’ll go out and pick some up.
However, bagels can be made with just a handful of ingredients, involve no yeast, and can give you that bagel fix you’re craving in just minutes!!
I got the inspo for this recipe while coming across greek yogurt bagels. While not vegan, I wanted to explore whether this could be reproduced with vegan sour cream or greek yogurt, and low and behold, it works!
What’s fab about this concept, is everything! It’s quick, easy, involves 5 ingredients, minimal steps, can easily be made in bulk, packed with protein, perf for any season, involves no yeast, no dairy, no eggs, and is a lazy bagel lovers dream! lol
If you’re all about effortless modern vegan recipes, you’re going to love these new vegan 5 IngredientCinnamon Raisin Bagels!!
With your hands or a spatula, mix together all the ingredients. Use your hands to push the dough together into one ball. The dough will be very sticky.Knead the dough on a floured surface or in the bowl about 15 times, adding an additional 1/3 cup flour gradually if it becomes too sticky.
Divide dough into four equal balls.
Roll out a ball on a lightly floured surface until it becomes a rope about 3/4 inch thick.
Try to make the rope as even and smooth as possible. Pinch ends shut to form a round circle. Repeat with remaining dough.
Although not vegan, I have made this recipe many times. It’s just so easy, quick, the bagels taste fantastic. Can’t see how you can go wrong on this one.
